Intergenerational Mobility and the Growth–Inequality–Poverty Nexus in Africa

Abstract This paper examines to what extent intergenerational mobility shapes both the impact of income inequality on growth as well effect that has poverty and in Africa. Thanks newly available internationally comparable data elasticities education, we confirm detrimental role played by higher opportunity measured mobility. The study concludes neglecting address root causes can be socially economically very costly.
